Palazzo Diedo hosts photographer Marco Delogu in conversation with Cristiana Collu, on the occasion of the presentation of his latest work, dedicated to the Sicilian painter.
The book was conceived both as an independent work and as the catalogue of the exhibition Antonello da Messina – Marco Delogu, which was held at Palazzo Bellomo in Ortigia (Sicily) until September 2025.
In the book, five masterpieces by Antonello are examined and transfigured through a photographic encounter that bridges centuries and disciplines in unexpected ways. The project unfolds as a play of gazes on four levels: the subject, the painter, the photographer, and the viewer. Alongside these “re-portraits” are six photographs that expand the dialogue between past and present, revealing what lies hidden in the gaze of others. Accompanying these visual dialogues, five texts by Delogu offer glimpses into the stories of the portrayed subjects.
