Marcantonio Brandolini d'Adda reinterprets the fireplace of Palazzo Diedo with a permanent glass installation.

Palazzo Diedo welcomes a new site-specific installation by Marcantonio Brandolini d'Adda (Paris, 1991), Untitled, which echoes the eleven permanent interventions created by international artists in dialogue with the architecture and spaces of the Palazzo between 2023 and 2025. The artist has breathed new life into the only remaining fireplace in Palazzo Diedo, rethinking its interior cladding, which was once covered with majolica tiles, with a contemporary approach.

Using cotisso tiles, that is, the raw glass left over from previous fusions, Brandolini d'Adda illuminates the space through the light play of reflections on the irregular surface of the glass, producing a myriad of color nuances, from orange to red, to blue, evoking the typical tones of fire. The installation recreates the warmth that once animated the room, projecting the memory of the lit fireplace into the present.
